The Spanish League, LaLiga, is preparing to launch several projects in Saudi Arabia, not only limited to football, but also including education, technology, and e-sports, according to Mita Ventura Ortiz, Managing Director of the Middle East and North Africa at LaLiga, who indicated that the details of these projects will be announced. Ortiz revealed, in press statements, on the sideslines of the Middle East Sports Investment Forum in London, that the association has a special interest in the Saudi and Iraqi markets, given the great popularity of the Spanish League in them, noting that the association recently launched the first Arabic-language podcast about Spanish football.

For his part, Bassem Ibrahim, Director of Sports Sector Investment Development at the Saudi Ministry of Investment, revealed that since the beginning of this year, his country has attracted about 40 deals in the sports sector with a total value of approximately 3.7 billion riyals, 30 percent of which (about one billion riyals) is foreign investment.

Ibrahim added, in press statements, on the sideslines of the forum, that the number of deals this year represents a jump compared to the number of deals completed throughout 2023, which amounted to 25 deals worth 3 billion riyals.

He explained that the Ministry aims, through participation in the London conference, to attract companies with experience in the field of sports, especially institutions concerned with qualifying cadres, and to motivate them to establish regional headquarters in Riyadh.
